Warrant of Fitness (WOF) Inspections
Keeping you safe and legal on New Zealand roads.
A Warrant of Fitness (WOF) is a safety inspection that checks whether your vehicle meets
New Zealand's minimum road safety requirements at the time of inspection. Our
experienced team carries out thorough WOF inspections and clearly explains any issues if
your vehicle doesn't pass.
Whether you're due for a routine WOF or need repairs to meet compliance requirements, we can help get you back on the road quickly and safely.
Before Your WOF Inspection
Before your WOF inspection, please ensure we have clear access to your spare tyre and its
mounting location so we can inspect its security as part of the WOF inspection.
Vehicles that are heavily loaded with personal belongings, work equipment, or sports gear
may need to be unloaded before inspection. Child restraints and car seats should be
removed prior to your appointment where possible, as seatbelts must be fully tested as part of the WOF process. If we remove a child restraint to complete the inspection, it will not be refitted, and it is the owner's responsibility to ensure it is correctly reinstalled.
Our WOF Inspection Includes
- Road test to test brakes, steering and suspension
- Lights and indicators for operation and condition
- Steering and suspension
- Tyres and wheels including spare tyre security
- Windscreen and wipers and other glazing for chips/cracks/clarity
- Seatbelts
- Vehicle structure and body condition
- Mirrors and interior fittings
- Doors and latches for operation
- Exhaust condition
- Fuel system and drive train
Failed Your WOF?
If your vehicle doesn't pass inspection, we'll explain exactly what has failed, provide an
estimate where possible, and discuss repair options. Once the repairs are completed, the
vehicle can be rechecked and a WOF issued.
